Abstract

Foreign crew immigration enters, exits, and monitors foreign crew in Indonesia's territory through ports and airports. This procedure is essential to maintain the country's sovereignty, but often, the information on the procedure is not conveyed completely, thus disrupting the smoothness of the foreign crew immigration procedure. This study aims to understand the immigration procedure of foreign crew at the shipping company PT in depth. Snepac Shipping, Tanjung Uban branch, and identify the obstacles often faced. The study results indicate that the delay in notification from the ship owner causes the immigration process to be carried out suddenly, which results in problems, such as the smoothness of foreign crew when leaving Indonesia. This shows the importance of careful planning and effective communication in implementing immigration procedures. Complete document preparation and early notification from the ship owner are needed to overcome this obstacle. In addition, improving communication with Immigration, especially after a long holiday, is very helpful in the smoothness of immigration procedures, even on holidays. Thus, it is hoped that the immigration procedure for foreign crew can run more smoothly and efficiently.
