Strategi Manajemen Talenta Maritim dalam Mendukung Green Maritime Industry dan Pencapaian Ekonomi Biru Berkelanjutan
Abstract
This study is motivated by the maritime industry’s growing need to strengthen competitiveness through effective talent management strategies that support the development of the Green Maritime Industry and accelerate the implementation of a sustainable blue economy in Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to analyze maritime talent management strategies that build both green skills and digital competencies among maritime human resources, and to measure their influence on sustainability performance and contributions to the blue economy. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining a quantitative survey of 120 respondents from national shipping companies and in-depth interviews with 12 maritime practitioners. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) and qualitative thematic analysis. The results indicate that the development of digital and green talent has a significant positive effect on improving the sustainability performance of shipping companies (path coefficient 0.71; p < 0.001) and contributes 38% to blue economy implementation through energy efficiency, emissions reduction, and increased operational productivity. Findings also show that 82% of respondents reported an urgent need for digital and green maritime training, while only 54% of companies possess sustainability-based human resource competency maps. The study concludes that integrated talent management strategies—including talent acquisition, talent development, and talent retention—are essential in strengthening the maritime industry's transition toward green practices and a sustainable blue economy.
