Pentingnya Bahasa Inggris dalam Perekrutan Crew Kapal Reefer Cargo di PT. KIA Marindo Jusema Jakarta

Abstract

The importance of English in recruiting the crew for working on board ship becomes the top requirement in selecting the crew who will work in a ship especially ocean going vessel. By doing that stage, the company will understand the capability of the crew when they are working on board ship; they will be able to work as well using English as the main communication tool. PT. Kia Marindo Jusema is a company which is running in manning agency for Deil Corporation, Ltd. The purpose of writing this paper is to understand the importance of English in the process of recruiting crew and the common problem happened in the process of recruiting crew of reefer cargo vessel at PT. Kia Marindo Jusema Jakarta. The methods used in writing this paper include direct observation in the workplace, interviewing staff at PT. Kia Marindo Jusema Jakarta, and library study methods or reviews to get the data needed in completing this paper. The conclusion obtained from the recruitment of the crew of the reefer cargo crew is that the recruitment of crew members has been running optimally because the company prepare the English course for the crew.
